Filler words aren’t necessarily “bad” words and have their place in writing.

However, many writers use these words copiously when they aren’t necessary.

Usually, these words are plunked into a sentence and don’t add value. The meaning remains the same if these words are removed from the sentence.

However, sometimes extra filler words are used in dialogue to make it feel more authentic, but the narration doesn’t require the same strategy.
