I know the world we live in is fucked up. I know that we are complicit in our own demise. I know that oligarchs (we can stop calling them billionaires anytime) own and operate governments for their own benefit and employ career politicians to do their bidding. I know that our capitalist system has provided benefits for a fraction of us and misery for the many. I know that the goal of the food production industry is to make a profit, not to provide healthy food in a sustainable way. I know that the goal of corporate media is also to make money, and to do it they tell viewers their version of the truth. I know that the owning class keeps the working class on a treadmill that spins so relentlessly that it prevents us from being able to look around and understand what is really going on. I know that the middle class that we’ve comfortably been members of is shrinking.
