I don't understand why we give Our Pets death with dignity but not ourselves. Euthanasia was extensively debated by those of us who remember the era of Dr. Jack Kevorkian.

When people approach the end, doctors can offer a salve. Buy time. But for many, there comes a time when the salve no longer soothes, and the treatment itself does more harm than good.

We treat our pets better than our loved ones and ourselves. When someone is of sound mind and wishes for the suffering to end, why not? It's a personal choice, and we should be free to make it.

Death and illness are very profitable entities. Many companies stand to make a lot of money by prolonging death.
