I have several ornamental grasses, but not the blood grass. They are beautiful in pots and borders. Need very little care, BUT, they can be invasive. There are no real tips on how to grow Japanese blood grass, but it is not hardy in freezing temperatures. Also keep in mind that they have the potential to become invasive. As a matter of fact, some states don't allow to sell them.
The grass It prefers cool, moist locations and tends to revert in full shade, which makes it a potential hazard to native plants. I would suggest to plant a small batch away from your prized plants and see what happens. Also, they need little care.
I will post pictures of my garden in a few days. It's huge. The back and the front. We are in the woods. I cut down many trees so that I can plant lots of plants. Right now, the Hydrangeas are amazing. Do you have them?
