I'm going through this as we speak with a dear and cherished friend who's battling cancer.

How will I keep lying at the faces of different people I know? telling them that everything’s going to be fine, when the truth that none of us can handle, is that the roughness experienced will settle to agreeableness for just a period of time, before another problem knocks on your door and once it does, it’ll break in no matter how hard you try to stop it while the heavier you do try, the more you’ll drown in pain. These thoughts were hunting me, devouring my soul even though I believed that being pessimistic was the best coping mechanism in order to survive.
