It could be a vicious cycle.

… and what I meant by that is feelings equal knowledge. I believe, I feel, I know, are all synonyms. Yet, people confuse emotions and thoughts with feelings and facts. Yes, we need more/ better words.

It could be a vicious cycle. When feelings are treated as facts, we use those feelings to selectively look for facts to back us up.
