Ouch. That's difficult.

I have a friend who is upset with me at present. She offered me a platitude in respect of something in my life that is very painful. Except that she misused an example. I replied in friendly terms, that the point of her example was other than her intention. I got a barrage of insults and was informed that she would not speak to me for a while. My only comment has been that if a great scholar had said what I did, she would have accepted it with good grace. I continue to be her friend and sent her a galentine.
