Over the years, I discovered that my secret is how I treat them — like equals. I talk to them like they’re adults (minus the profanity because…gotta set an example, no?), with logic and love. Behave like I am their age. And it always works. The stubbornest kid will grin and submit to me. Ah, what a superpower.
