So sad ...but true.

When someone is resolved to actually saying farewell, it means they've conceded that's The End-- those fews words will mark their final interaction with the dying. What if that person survives another week, day, or even a few more hours? No matter how dire the scenario is, family members instinctively cling to the idea they'll have one more contact; one more moment of togetherness. It's that very hope which prevents most of us from uttering the dreaded "goodbye."
