This is very informative. Many years ago, I owned a German shepherd and taught him to become an attack dog. I did too good of a job and had to watch him constantly when company came over.

One thing I learned when approaching a dog is to extend your hand and let them smell you. And when you go to pet a dog, always begin with the head so they can see you and feel safe. Never begin with the back.
