Very good point.

First of all, for many poor rural dwellers, when it comes to feeding your family, hunting is a basic economic necessity. A single deer can net you seventy pounds of fresh, lean, organic meat. Compare that to a trendy organic supermarket and what you pay for a hormone-free, grass-fed, humanely-slaughtered flank steak. Do the math. Hunting requires guns. End of story. And yet, it’s not the end. There’s much more to the story.

Very good point. It's very rural at our summer home. Hearing gun shots day and night is normal. Als normal to see a deer strapped to the roofs of cars. And the meet is delicious.
